Small but select field for final flat listed race of the year, the 10f Quebec Stakes on poly track at Lingfield.

The Karl Burke trained six-year-old gelding Royal Champion is 7lb clear on official ratings, having been running with credit in International races in Australia & Canada , including finishing 2nd in G2 Crystal Mile at Moonee Valley in October, also finished good second in Woodbine International in 2023 .Had previously won twice in listed company in UK for Roger Varian .Looks interesting runner on first start for Karl Burke, though odds around 11-10 look very short for horse unproven on All Weather surfaces .

Last years winner TYRRHENIAN SEA  goes particularly well here on poly track at Lingfield, including winning this race last year in impressive style. Also finished creditable second in G3 Winter Derby in 2023 at Lingfield, behind the useful four time G1 winner Lord North .Made promising return in Churchill Stakes at Newcastle last month ,finishing staying on 4L third to The Foxes & Dubai Honour, that looked strong listed form with winner & second both running with credit in valuable group one Hong Kong international races at Sha Tin earlier this month .Odds around 9-4 look solid value .

Decent looking class two sprint handicap on poly track at Lingfield, with the inform Archie Watson trained  three year old gelding Kylian put in favourite at around 2-1, after finishing good second in class two handicap at Southwell earlier this month behind the useful Equilaterial .Had previously won class two handicap at Newcastle in November off 8lb lower mark , has to be respected though this sharp five furlongs doesn't look ideal,having shown his best form at Newcastle over stiffer five furlongs .

The Michael Appleby trained six year old gelding BEDFORD FLYER should go well after finishing close second in class 3 handicap at Southwell earlier this month , goes particuraly well here at Lingfield (5212411) ,including winning three times over C&D .Up 2lb for that nose second at Southwell last time , though still looks fairly handicapped off mark 92 , having won off higher marks in the past .Odds around 4-1 look solid each-way value in this eight runner race .

 

Of the others Sommelier  looks the most interesting , had some useful form earlier in season, finishing good second behind Big Evs in listed race at York ,also won twice on All Weather last season as two-year-old, will need bounce back after poor run at Kempton last time , though can't be ruled out off fair mark 95 .
