Thursdays best bets !!

Start of another month and hopefully a change of fortunes after two very poor months.June see's fresh approach with complete change on staking with starting bank of £4000 .

5% of betting bank will be staked on each bet replacing one point each-way level stakes .Long term this method of staking should increase profits and protect the betting bank when having that losing run.

On to Thursday's racing four flat cards at Lingfield ,Southwell ,Hamilton & Sandown not the greatest quality though few interesting races .Going concentrate on 6 furlong claiming stakes at Hamilton .

6F CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6 HAMILTON 2.40
PRINCE OF VASA : Former Mark Johnston trained gelding ,has struggled in handicaps since finishing second in class 4 handicap last August off mark 79 .Ran decent second in claimer at Redcar in early May behind  three time claiming winner Thrust Control, only just getting caught close home .

VERDICT : Dark Lane ,Prince of Vasa & Carries Magic look closely matched at these weights .Dark Lane has looked disappointing since winning handicap at Windsor in early April, including in claimer last time when finishing behind Prince of Vasa now wears blinkers first time, makes limited appeal at  7-4 after three disappointing runs.

Carries Magic is consistent filly finishing placed three times this season in fillies handicaps and should go well for in form David Barron stable.

PRINCE OF VASA ran well in claimer at Redcar earlier last month and should go well returning to claiming company.4-1 looks fair value in what looks weak looking claimer .Carries Magic is the most consistent runner in the race and looks the main danger.

PRINCE OF VASA 2.40 HAMILTON (SECOND)
£100 EACH-WAY @ 4-1 STAN JAMES
5% OF BETTING BANK
LOSS -£20.00 BANK RUNNING TOTAL £3980
