Saturday see's the start of flat turf season at Doncaster, though that looks very competitive card and very difficult to find any suitable betting opportunities .
The main interest on Saturday is the big World Cup meeting at Meydan featuring five group one races .Going concentrate on one supporting races the G2 UAE Derby at 1.55
1.55 MEYDAN 1MILE 1F 110YDS UAE DERBY G2 DIRT :
10 Runners declared for UAE Derby on the dirt at Meydan .This looks decent group 2 contest for three year olds .The three main contenders look to be Mubtaahij , Golden Barows & Maftool .
MUBTAAHIJ : Big improver since switching to the dirt ,winning 3 out 4 at this years carnival .The only defeat came in UAE 2000 guineas when beaten head by Maftool .Looked well suited to this longer trip when winning listed race over C&D last time .Obvious claims with conditions to suit .
GOLDEN BAROWS : Unbeaten on the dirt winning 3 out 3 over 1 mile at Toyko ,including listed race last time .Not easy to weigh up the Japanese dirt form ,though looks progressive sort who looks open to improvement .
MAFTOOL :Useful sort winning 3 from 7 ,including winning the group three Somerville stakes at Newmarket over 7F .Returned to form last time winning UAE 2000 Guineas over 1 mile. However there has to be doubts about this longer trip .
VERDICT : MUBTAAHIJ looks very solid here, having won three out four on dirt at Meydan and looked well suited to this longer trip when bolting up in listed race over C&D last time .Odds around 11-4 look very fair value .In race lacking strength in depth .
Golden Barows looks the main danger on his Japanese form ,though never easy to weigh up far east dirt runners ,and still has stamina to prove over this longer trip ,
MUBTAAHIJ 1.55 MEYDAN
