2.35 HAYDOCK 7F TIMEFORM JURY STAKES GROUP 3:
13 runners declared for Timeform Jury stakes ,on ground described as good/soft .Quite competitive race on official ratings .The three main contenders look to be Breton Rock ,Cable Bay & That Is Spirit .
BRETON ROCK :Good strike rate winning 7 from 15 starts .Goes particularly well with cut in the ground ,including winning group two Hungerford Stakes at Newbury last season .Also finished close second in this race last year .Ran satisfactory 7th of 16 in group 1 Lockinge Stakes on seasonal reappearance at Newbury .Looks sure go well returning to 7 furlongs .
CABLE BAY :Only win came in maiden at Leicester back in 2013,though has shown plenty placed form in group races ,including finishing second in G2 Vision stakes at Newmarket in October .Finished good 5th in Group one Lockinge Stakes last time at Newbury .Likely to be thereabouts ,though not won since June 2013 .
THAT IS SPIRIT : Improving sort Winning 4 from 9 starts, all over 7 furlongs ,including two listed races .Won Spring Trophy stakes in good style over C&D at Haydock last time on soft ground .Each-way claims ,though will need improvement to win this stronger race .
VERDICT : BRETON ROCK looks very solid here ,having won in group two company last season in Hungerford stakes .Has excellent record over 7 furlongs on easy ground (31211117) .Should be difficult to beat with optimum conditions .Odds around 4-1 looks decent value .
Cable Bay looks the main danger ,having finished good fifth in group one Lockinge stakes last time ,though sure be thereabouts ,has poor win strike rate .
