With Saturday's classic trial card at Newbury abandoned earlier today .The card has quickly been switched to Chelmsford on All Weather .The most interesting race on the card ,looks to be the 7 furlong Fred Darling Stakes at 2.40 .
8 Runners declared for group three Fred Darling at Chelmsford .The three main contenders are Aljazzi , Besharah & Marenko
ALJAZZI : Bolted up on debut by 4.5 lenghs in 7F maiden at Newmarket ,in October on soft ground. Not easy to assess that form on All Weather Debut , though looks interesting contender .
BESHARAH :Useful 2-Y-0 last season over 5 & 6 furlongs ,winning 4 out 7 ,including winning 6F group two Lowther Stakes at York in August .Makes All Weather Debut and steps up to 7 furlongs for first time ,though clearly the one to beat on last years form .
MARENKO : Showed some useful form last season ,including finishing excellent 2ND ,behind the useful Turret Rocks in group two 7 furlong May Hill Stakes at Doncaster in September .Won 8 furlong conditions race on All Weather 2 weeks ago at Kempton .Should go well with conditions to suit .
VERDICT : Besharah is clearly the one to beat on official ratings (6LB clear) ,though is unproven over this longer trip and yet race on All Weather .At top price 6-4 ,looks short enough in the market .
At the prices MARENKO looks solid each-way value.Showed some useful form in group races over this trip last season .Has also proved herself on poly track ,and looks well drawn in stall two for front runner ,with Ryan Moore riding for first time .Odds around 4-1 look good value .
