On Friday evening we back in Ireland for decent looking 1 mile 0-95 handicap on poly track at Dundalk .
10 runners declared for quality 1 mile handicap on poly track at Dundalk .The three main contenders are Chestnut Fire , Red Avenger & Reckless Lad .
CHESTNUT FIRE : Progressive 5-Y-0 gelding ,winning 3 out 7 on poly track at Dundalk ,including winning twice over C&D.Looked unlucky when beaten nose by Red Avenger over C&D in December, when finding trouble in running. Also finished creditable third in 7F handicap at Dundalk last time, finishing strongly in closing stages.Obvious claims returning to his this longer trip .
RED AVENGER : Useful sort for Ed Dunlop back in 2014/15 ,including winning the Betfred Mile at Glorious Goodwood off mark 96 .Bounced back to form after changing stables this winter ,winning last two starts over C&D for trainer D.J English .Up 11LB in weights for last two victories ,though still fairly handicapped on old form .
RECKLESS LAD : Consistent sort ,winning 5 out 25 at Dundalk ,also been placed nine times ,Been in good form this winter ,without winning ,Finished fair 2 length fourth ,behind Red Avenger last time .Should be thereabouts , though not won since November 2015 .
VERDICT : CHESTNUT FIRE looks the one beat returning to this 1 mile trip , looked unlucky not to beat Red Avenger over C&D earlier last month ,losing on the nod ,after suffering trouble in running .Should reverse that form on 7LB better terms .Odds around 5-2 look solid value .
