The Breeders' Cup World Championships is an annual series of Grade IThoroughbred horse races,
operated by Breeders' Cup Limited, a company formed in 1982. From its
inception in 1984 through 2006, it was a single-day event; starting in 2007, it expanded to two days. All sites have been in the United States, except in 1996, when the races were at the Woodbine Racetrack in Canada.
The Breeders’ Cup is one of the richest two days in sports, with $34
million paid out in purses and awards over the entire weekend. Winnings
are paid out to owners, stallion nominators, and foal nominators. Owners
are paid through the tenth finish position and share their winnings
with their trainer and jockey on their own terms.
Del Mar, “Where the Turf Meets the Surf,” will serve as the World
Championships host site for a third time. With its breathtaking
location, Del Mar is unique in its picturesque natural backdrop, and its
village town center promises to attract domestic and international
visitors seeking beautiful beaches, award-winning cuisine, and boutique
hotels.
The Del Mar Fairgrounds is an event venue in Del Mar, California. It hosts the annual San Diego County Fair. The venue sits on a 370-acre (1.5 km2)
property along the Pacific Ocean coastline. It includes the Del Mar
Racetrack, built in 1936 by the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, with founding
member Bing Crosby providing leadership.[1]
Del Mar runs all of its races left-handed. It has a one-mile oval
with chutes for seven furlong and ten-furlong races. There is also a
turf course that is a a seven-eighths mile oval with a diagonal
straightaway chute for 8.5 furlong races and 9 furlong races.
As far as track trends go, it changes around but generally speaking
the dirt races have a little bit of an outside flow, or perhaps more
accurately, the rail is often not the place you want to be.
(1) LAKE VICTORIA (126) (2) HEAVENS GATE (112) (3) FIERY LUCY (111) (3) THOUGHT PROCESS (111)
The unbeaten Aidan O'Brien filly LAKE VICTORIA stands out on form ,winning all her four starts , includingwinning the Cheveley Park stakes at Newmarket in impressive style last time .Already ante-post favourite for next years 1000 guineas. The step up to mile should suit this powerfull frankel filly . Odds evens or bigger look very fair value, in not the strongest looking contest .
Of the others the Aidan O'Brien second string Heavens Gate has place claims after winning 3 out 7 this season ,including winning the G3 Weld Stakes at Curragh last time .
Thought Process looks best of the American horses ,after winning her last three starts , including winning the group three Surfer Girl Stakes at Santa Anita last time , though that form is nothing special and will need plenty improvement to land this G1 contest .
The speedyAmericanfive-year-old COGBURN has excellent record on turf, winning 5 out 6, including winning the G1 Jaipur Stakes at Saratoga in June, that form looks very solid, beating the Charlie Appleby (116) rated Star Of Mystery by 4L .Should take plenty of beating in this 5f contest .Odds 6-4 or bigger are very fair.

JBB FORM RATINGS :
(1) WAR LIKE GODDESS (125) (2) CONTENT (124) (2) MOIRA (124)
Open looking filly and Mare contest, with the Charlie Appleby trained three-year-old Cinderella's Dream the clear favourite at around 11-4 , after winning 6 out 7 , only defeat coming in 1000 guineas. Has to be respected , though 11-4 looks short enough being unproven over this longer trip .
At the prices the consistent seven-year-old mareWAR LIKES GODDESS looks the each-way value here at around 5-1 , has been in good form this season , including finishing good second in G1 Joe Hirsch classic last time .Has previously finished placed in Breeders Cup back in 2021 & 2022 .Goes well here at Del Mar , including winning over C&D in July .Looks solid each-way bet ,especially with bookmakers paying 4 places
The Aidan O 'Brien trained Content looks possible danger on her early season form , including winning the Yorkshire Oaks on fast ground , though will need to bounce back after two disappointing on soft ground .
Best of the others look to be Moira who finished good third in this race last year behind Inspiral , looks open to further improvement over this slightly longer trip .
2000 Guineas winner NOTABLE SPEECH should go well now back on fast surface , was disappointing fifth in Prix de Moulin at Longchamp last time , though that was on very testing ground , had previously won the G1 Sussex Stakes at Goodwood in good style on fast ground .The Charlie Appleby stable have excellent record in the race ,winning the Breeders Cup mile for the last three years .Odds 3-1 or bigger are solid value.
The Irish filly Porta Fortuna rates as the main danger ,after having excellent season , winning 3 out 4 ,her only defeat coming in 1000 Guineas at Newmarket back in May, was impressive winner of the G1 Matron Stakes at Leopardstown back in September .This improving filly looks sure go well
